Frequently Asked Questions …
Q: I am overwhelmed with clutter- do I have to deal with all my clutter before I think of using fizom? That just seems like it will take a lifetime to deal with all my stuff!
A: My dear, you are not alone! The thing with clutter is that it is unmade decisions. It is overwhelming to see a pile of stuff- and chances are that there is some sort of psychological reason for not dealing with it. I have found that when most people start to use the principles of fizom (found on the fizom 101 page), they are putting a positive spin on their surroundings, giving a “fiz” to feel more clear to let the clutter leave almost effortlessly. Remember- the not doing is far more painful than the doing!
Q: But Kristy, you would just die if you came to my house!
A: Oh my! No, I promise you that no one’s house has killed me yet, not even close! My concern is how it might be killing you. Many people have am immense amount of shame that their house is not clean enough, big enough, pretty enough, not fixed enough… My concern is that the bad feelings that you have about your home might be causing incredible pain in your life. You don’t deserve that. I have to admit, I love coming to a home that is “a mess”. I have no judgments or disgust. I get excited because I know, that if the person follows our fizom plan, then, they will see things change for the better both in their home and their life. Time and time again, miracles happen. If you would like help in your home, and are not ready for me to come to you- we can do a telephone consultation to get you on your way!
Q: Is this a religion?
A: Nope. Feng shui has roots four thousand years ago in Buddhism.(anything four thousand years ago had a religious/spiritual root-perhaps that’s how it’s survived and has age old truths). Fizom is about YOUR surroundings honoring YOUR LIFE. So, if religion or spirituality is a part of your life, then, it is a part of your fizom plan. If it’s not, then, it’s not. Over the years, I have had the honor of working with clients that are: Catholic, Protestant- Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist, Christian, Born-again Christian, Mormon, Pagan, Hindu, Wiccan, Jewish- Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, Buddhist, Agnostic, Atheist and Quaker. And more that I learned about. And for all, I am privileged to help families keep what is most dear, close to them.
